UHFCC grants provide financial help and assistance for families with children that have medical needs not covered or not fully covered by their commercial health insurance plan.
McLindon Family Foundation
Provides adaptive bicycles for children with special needs
The Arya Foundation
Provides financial aid for the purchase of medical supplies and equipment for children with medical conditions.
Applications will only be accepted from parents or legal guardians on behalf of a child who is:
- 18 years or younger
- Request qualifies as a valid health care need
- The child lives in St. Louis and the surrounding area
- Referred by a social worker or case manager
- The request is up to $1,000
You are allowed one piece of equipment per year. Anything over $1,000, you are responsible for the remaining balance.
Stepping Stones for Stella
They are a 501©(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide Buggies to children with disabilities to ensure they and their families experience the joy and freedom of the great outdoors to it’s fullest.
Danny Did Foundation
Provides epilepsy/seizure devices for children with Epilepsy.
First Hand Foundation
Providing financial assistance for medical treatment, medical equipment, vehicle modification, and travel/lodging. Please contact them to view insurance, and financial guidelines as well as what is covered and what is not covered. First Hand Foundation donates worldwide, a separate application is listed on their website if applying outside of the United States.
Chelsea Hutchison Foundation
Provides seizure response dogs or seizure movement monitors for children in need. Please contact in regards to applying.
The June Brandy Foundation
Helping children and their families that suffer from any life threatening or life altering illness/disease/disability. They provide help for the whole family at Christmas time (presents for ALL children in the home). They also have a iPad program that supplies iPads to children chronically admitted to the hospital and they supply month wishes to sick, and disabled children to make their life just a little brighter.
Alyssa V Phillips Foundation
Assisting children with Cerebral Palsy to help pay for their therapies or other medical treatments, and equipment. All applicants must;
- Be a United States Citizen
- Have used other means to fund what is needed (insurance)
- And can provide a denial letter, or why insurance/Medicaid will not pay

Wish Granting Organizations and Fun Stuff
Adults and Children
Adult Wish Granting Organization
- Be 18 or older
- Be diagnosed with a life-limiting illness
- Have a life expectancy of 9 months or less or lose the ability to actively participate in the Dream experience due to progressive disease within 9 months
- Lack the resources to fulfill the Dream themselves
- Live in the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii
Children with disabilities can learn how to fly a plane.
Granting wishes to critically and chronically ill children.

Children have to have a life threatening condition in order to qualify, you can refer a child or have a doctor refer a child as well. Must be between the ages of 2 ½ years and 18 years old to qualify for a Wish. You cannot reapply for a second Wish and you cannot have had a Wish granted by another organization. Dream wishes fulfilled for kids with all different disabilities. One dream per family, and cannot have had another Wish granted by another organization. Child must be between the ages of 3-18 years old to qualify. Please visit their website for more information.
Children’s Wish Foundation International
Children must be under the age of 18 to qualify for a wish.
The Granted Wish Foundation
Wish organization for Children to Young Adults, ages 5 to 25 years old. Must have a diagnosis from a physician. Please visit their site for all eligibility requirements.
Children aged 0-18 years old with cancer or a life-threatening medical condition (Progressive, Degenerative, or Malignant condition that may jeopardize the child’s life) can apply for Hope Kids. The chapters for the Organization are located in the following areas:

Deliver the Dream
For families when a child develops a life threatening disease or when a parent is diagnosed with a debilitating illness.
They provide a special day for persons between the ages of 16-40 years old who have a serious illness (this does include Neurological Conditions). Benefit For Kids
Their primary goal is to grant outdoor wishes for children with chronic and/or life long illnesses. Please visit their website for eligibility requirements and application.
Buckmaster’s Life Hunts
Granting hunting wishes to children with chronic illness and severe disabilities through age 21. Please contact them for eligibility requirements and application.

Catch A Dream Foundation
A once in a lifetime fishing opportunity for a child 18 or under with a life-threatening illness. There are age requirements for certain types of fishing, so please visit the site for additional information on requirements and application.
Hunt of a Lifetime Foundation
Granting hunting and fishing dreams to children with a life-threatening illness through the age of 21. Please visit the site for further information regarding eligibility requirements.
The Outdoor Dream Foundation
Granting outdoor adventures to children with terminal or life-threatening illnesses. In order to qualify you must complete and submit a application with a physician’s letter verifying the child’s illness. Please contact the site for further information.
United Special Sportsman Alliance
A non-profit Christian organization that routinely coordinates with other caring organizations worldwide in fulfilling a dream wish. They grant wishes to Disabled Veterans, Disabled Children, and Children with Chronic Illnesses or Terminally Ill. The wishes can include hunting, fishing, canoeing, or any other outdoor adventure you can think of. Please contact them in regards to other information and applications.
Room to Dream Foundation
“Due to a large number of referrals, we are currently only able to accept applications submitted from approved hospitals in the Greater-Boston area. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and must be submitted by approved hospitals to be considered by the Foundation.”

They are NOT a wish-granting organization, but they do work with other wish-granting organizations to send children with life-threatening illnesses to the central Florida area. GKTW has served all 50 states and even 45 different countries! They are amazing.
Ride A Wave
A organization that gives children with special needs the chance to feel the thrill of riding a wave and experience a safe, fun-filled day at the beach. Whether they are physically, developmentally or economically challenged.
