This year has turned into a wonderful year of giving.
We met Tanner at ALL transmission World of South Orlando last week when we told him about our blanket drive and a little about We Are RARE inc does in the community
Tanner immediately thought of ways he could help others and deliver smiles to Orange county even mentioning how important he felt it was for others to know the act of giving to those facing challenges we may learn from. Giving feels good.
Tanner didn’t hesitate to reach out to other businesses he knew either.
AATR towing and recovery jumped on board to be a part of it and said they will be donating 90 batteries for the blankets. How awesome is that??
Tanner even reached out to his connections at The South Orange chamber of commerce who matched Tanner’s donatation with The Oakridge Gun range! For another 10 blankets.
That’s what it’s all about!!!
But we weren’t done. We reached out to our friends since we knew we’d be making a delivery to Nemours to see if we could get more people involved.
A few local ballet dancers we know said they wanted to come and help either by sharing a small dance to share with others or to just bring smiles to families on an otherwise normal day at the hospital. Perform Orlando accepts differently abled students as well as full inclusion dance classes.
On December 21, 2 pm, we will be going as a caravan to deliver blankets and toys to Nemours. Will you join us and show your support?
We’d love to have you there.
We Are RARE second annual holiday toy drive invites you to participate.
For every $200.00 donation, RARE will donate 10 Lula storytime blankets to Nemours hospital Lake Nona.
Lula blankets are full size comforters that sold for $149.00 retail and include interactive soothing sounds with lights and four clever designs.
Originally sold through Neiman Marcus and Skylmall, these gifts were given to our foundation to help others and raise funds for our charity event “The Purple and Green Inclusion run as well as ongoing yearly programs our foundation supports.
We are RARE Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that reaches out globally to advocate for rare brain disorders such as Schizencephaly, Plagiocephaly, Microcephaly/Hydrocephalus/Macrocephalic disorders, Lissencephaly and traumatic brain injury, as well as underlying conditions associated with rare cephalic disorders such as cerebral palsy.
